After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?

 The masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are because everyone in the classroom while the teacher is teaching has a mask on which shows that everybody is going through the same thing. One moment that stood out to me was the same moment when the teacher is teaching and everybody has a mask. This scene stood out because it shows teens in school are all going through the same thing trying to fit into the crowd and I found the scene kind of deep. The poem and the short film connect because they both have exclusion included in the story with langston hughe's speaker being the "darker brother" and being separated from the people to the girl in the short film being ignored and excluded by her classmates. I want my mask to reveal my identity when you get to know me and become my friend instead of my mellow and lay low personality when you don't know me. 


We watched a sore film and worked on our identity mask.


I learned how to express myself through art.
